4 Reasons Event Caterers Should Use Induction Chafing Dishes

Posted on

Chafing dishes are often vital when you need to serve a large number of people, so they're one of the most important tools in an event caterer's arsenal. As such, you should really think about switching to induction chafing dishes. Unlike other options, induction surfaces don't get hot themselves. Instead, they create an electromagnetic reaction that heats the chafing dish itself. This offers several benefits for event catering supply companies. Here are just four.

1. Even Heating

You'll naturally want every part of your chafing dish to receive the same level of heat. If that doesn't happen, some pieces of food can dry out and overcook, while others can grow too cold. That shouldn't be an issue with induction chafing dishes since the induction surface heats the whole dish evenly. Even when food is left out for longer periods, you won't need to worry about some bits getting more heat than others.

2. Added Safety

One of the main benefits of going for induction chafing dishes is that they provide far greater safety. There's no open flame to cause fire risks or injuries, and the fact that the heating surface itself cools relatively quickly once the chafing dish is removed means people are far less likely to hurt themselves. This is great for any catering event since accidents can always happen when lots of people are trying to serve themselves at once, but it's particularly important if you'll be dealing with lots of kids.

3. No Fuel Concerns

There are more traditional chafing dishes that offer their own heating options, but they won't be as convenient as induction dishes since fuel will often be a concern. With an induction chafing dish, you remove the need for liquid or gas fuel, so you'll never have to worry about running out unexpectedly or having to top things up halfway through an event. Induction dishes can be plugged into the mains to ensure this is never an issue.

4. Can Be Used for Cooking

One benefit many people don't anticipate from induction chafing dishes is that you can actually use them for both cooking and serving. The induction heating element provides such fine control over heat that it can function just like a normal stovetop. This is ideal for event caterers since it helps you get food out faster and should significantly reduce the amount of washing up that needs to be done at the end of the day.
